Summer BBQ and Bonding

July 5, 2016Chance King

Summer is finally here and there’s no better way to celebrate the season than with family bonding.

At Pinnacle Dietary we treat our clients like family, not just as partners. As a family, we like to bond over great food. There are so many things that you can do at this time of year. Something that comes to mind is an outdoor BBQ. After our chef fires up the grill, nothing can top the delicious smell of burgers and hot dogs cooking. And no BBQ is complete without the sides such as coleslaw, macaroni salad, potato salad, refreshing watermelon and a tall glass of lemonade to cool you off! I think you get the picture; stop by at any of Pinnacle Dietary’s accounts to experience this treat.

Here are some simple steps for Super-grilling:

1. Make sure that your meat is fully defrosted and at room temperature for at least 15 minutes prior to cooking.

2. Season both sides of the meat with salt and pepper and then let the meat rest. I suggest you try of very own “Fat Burger the PD Way” (Click recipe above).

3. While the meat rests, fire up the grill and get it as hot as you can.

4. Don’t forget about safety; you should always have water and a fire extinguisher nearby just in case.

5. Make sure your secret seasoning is available while grilling.

6. To get a perfectly juicy and burger, place your meat on the grill and leave it alone for a good 2 minutes before turning it. Don’t keep turning the meat or you will just ruin the cooking process. For the best flavor, let the flames do all the work.

7. Once the meat is cooked to your liking, remove it from grill and let it rest for 2 minutes before serving. This allows the juice to circulate so that it maintains its moisture.

8. While the meat is resting, toast your bun on the grill.

9. For extra flavor try adding some of the following: bacon, cheese (cheddar or pepper jack), pickles, sliced jalapeños, lettuce, tomato, coleslaw or Smoked BBQ Sauce (Click recipe above).

10. Now it is time to take that first big bite…I hope you enjoy it!
